Bonnie Coffee is named after one of the founders' Lloyd Smith’s mum, who is fondly known by her family and friends as Bonnie. Our business is founded on the principles and lessons she taught from a young age.

Lesson 1
Do one thing and do it properly
Mum was a school-teacher and always loved her coffee; but not just any coffee – she loved really good coffee! When I was a just a young boy, one of three sons, Mum instilled in us that to make life a success, one must do one thing at a time, and do it properly. At Bonnie Coffee our one thing is coffee.
Lesson 2
Respect our people, our land & our planet
As a young family we lived in the outback, alongside many Indigenous Australians. Mum taught us to respect our people, our land and our planet. We practice this every day at Bonnie Coffee in the following ways:
We are a proud sponsor of Yalari and its initiatives to educate and empower indigenous children.
We are a proud stockist and supporter or Gulbarn Tea, a not-for-profit business established by the indigenous community of Minyerri on Alawa country.
We are proud of and committed to our Sustainability Policy.

Lesson 3
Welcome. Thank You. Enjoy.
Mum taught us to always be welcoming towards others and to always express our gratitude towards others with two magic words “Thank You”. She also taught us to remember to enjoy ourselves each and every day, because if you are enjoying yourself, others will enjoy being around you.
Lesson 4
Sow. Reap. Repeat.
Mum taught us to: Sow. Reap. Repeat. At Bonnie Coffee we believe that passion is life’s key ingredient. We express who we are and what we believe in every day, with clarity and a focus on quality.

Lesson 5
Weapon of Mass Construction
Build it - and build it good!
Lesson 6
Sex, Drugs & Caffeination™
This may sound like controversial advice coming from Mum, but looking back this was great advice and makes so much sense:
Always drink and act responsibly, and always drink great coffee.
Turns out Mum is always right.
So . . . listen to your Mum.
